Continued Professional Development for Real Estate Agents
Skills Consulting Group assists the Real Estate Authority (REA) by providing a Continuing Education framework for real estate professionals. REA introduced continuing education to help raise industry standards and promote confidence in the real estate industry.
Licensed Real Estate professionals undertake 20 hours of Continuing Education – compulsory on an annual basis – to maintain their license. Since 2014 Skills has provided the learning materials for 10 hours of verifiable study. An additional 10 hours of non-verifiable study (e.g. conferences and industry events) is also required.
Skills Instructional Designers consult with industry experts and REA legal advisors at regular intervals throughout the year to develop the material. This involves a process of consultation involving regular workshops and ongoing feedback.
The workshops expose the participants to advice and ideas from leading industry experts and opportunities to discuss topical industry issues.
The Instructional Designers then use this feedback to finalise the REA course material.
Skills facilitate a ‘Train the Trainer’ forum to provide support and upskilling to REA Approved Providers. Participants have the opportunity to ask questions of the leading industry experts in preparation to deliver the course.
