New perspectives on learning and dynamic facilitation style

Gabi Berto is a Consultant and Senior Instructional Designer for Skills Consulting Group, working closely with clients to identify learning solutions and understand learners’ needs, in order to design engaging course content and provide a meaningful facilitation experience. She has built her knowledge by working with subject matter experts within these organisations, visiting sites to understand the requirements of the jobs, and designing qualifications that align with these demands. Gabi is able to provide clients with new perspectives on learning, supporting them to make this a crucial part of their organisation, whereby their workforce is being continually developed and upskilled.

As a facilitator, she is high-energy and dynamic, delivering fun and interactive workshops and courses, by drawing on her 15 years’ experience in the adult learning field. She leads Train the Trainer programmes for IMNZ, alongside the adult education qualification for the aviation security industry. Her earlier background includes roles as a Tutor and Trainer for NZMA and ESOL Teacher with EDENZ Colleges and Eastern Institute of Technology.

Passionate about learning, Gabi has extensive qualifications including a Postgraduate Diploma in English Language, a Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, a National Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education, and Certificates in Te Reo and Tikanga Māori.

Outside of work, a fear of heights has done little to stop Gabi from jumping off high places, preferably while attached to stretchy cords. While on the ground, she has been adopted by her neighbour’s cat.
