Peni Taoi

Expert in programme development, training delivery and quality assurance 

Peni is an Advisor for Skills Consulting Group, based in Suva, Fiji. He started his professional life as an automotive mechanic apprentice before moving into the Technical and Vocational Education (TVET) sector, firstly as a trainer and administrator and later specialising in the design, reform and implementation of vocational education systems.  

Peni has over thirty years’ experience in the TVET sector across Fiji and the Solomon Islands. He has been instrumental in both markets in placing industry need at the forefront of skills development. Most recently, he was tasked with establishing the new Centre of National Productivity to provide industry upskilling for the Solomon Islands. 

Previously, Peni served as Deputy Director for the National Training and Productivity Centre at Fiji National University. During this time, he ensured that the in-service training needs of industries in Fiji were met and managed the quality apprenticeship system in Fiji and its promotion within industries. 

Peni specialises in apprenticeship and vocational education reform as well as programme development, training delivery and quality assurance. His advisory presence will provide our Fijian clients and partners with an immediate layer of connection and expertise while we help them reach their goals.
